-About: 

Catoctin will be hosting our very first annual peach festival at our farm on Saturday August 1st. 
What you can expect. We have over 30 plus vendors attending from crafts, art, bakeries, jewelry, crochet items, dog and cat treats, candy and so much more. 
We have 3 food trucks attending, BBQ & Tech, Rockys Pizza, La Carreta Tacos. 4 beverage booths including Linganore Winery, Rosie Cheeks Brewery, Darling Lemon & The Ville Shaved Ice. There will be free face painting for children by the Painted Little Faces and local band Vinyl Fever for all attendees to enjoy. Our very own catoctin employee will be bringing her farm animals for our petting zoo and our neighbor will bringing their 4H bunnies and sheep. Peach picking will be available ONLY for those who purchased tickets for our festival. Picking will be available from 9:00 Am- 11:00 Am or until we are picked out. We will still have u-pick peached rain or shine. Check-in will be held at our check-in trailer at the entrance of the festival. For more information please read below. If you like pie then you should sign up for our peach pie eating contest. There be several age divisions, 10 slots available per age group. sign up will be at our check-in entrance. Adult winner get a $50 gift card to our store, children winners get to pick out a book from our gift tent and all age winners get a festival t-shirt and a free peach slushy to wash down that pie afterwards. 
 

-U-Pick Peaches

Picking Time: 9 Am- 11 Am
(This time is subject to change depending on how fast we get picked out so please come early). 

This will go on rain or shine. You must purchase a ticket to enter the festival to pick peaches. This special event is only available for those attending our festival.

Picking Bag Sizes: 1/2 Peck Box (call for price)

1 box allows 2 adults and 2 children to enter. If there are more adults in your party you will be required to purchase another box. 

Picking Guideline: 

  • You must purchase a box in order to pick peaches.
  • No outside containers allowed.
  • NO EATING PEACHES in the peach orchard.
  • No picnicking in the peach orchard.
  • Once picked, you must put in your box not on the ground. Help small children when choosing the right peach to reduce any waste. 
  • Do not pick anything green
  • No Pets in the u-pick orchard 
  • If we sell you a box and there are no peaches once you get to the picking field we will happily issue you a refund. 
  • If you can no follow our rules we have the right to ask you to leave with no refund.

-Pie Eating Contest:

Who loves pie? I know we do! If your a die hard pie eater then your a great fit to be a participant in our pie eating contest. There will be 3 age groups groups, ages 5-10 with 10 slots available, ages 11-17 with 10 slots and ages 18 + will have 10 slots available. Sign up is free and will be at our check-in entrance for the festival. The winner from age division 5-10 will get to pick out a free book from our gift booth, a festival t-shirt and a peach slushy. Winner from age division 11-17 will get the choice of a free book or a $25 gift card to our store plus a festival t-shirt and a peach slushy. Winner from age division 18 and up will get a $50 gift card to our store, a festival t-shirt and a free peach slushy. Rules are simple, you can only use your mouth to eat NO UTENCILS and you must be the first to finish within the given time. Age group 5-10 will have up to 5 minutes to eat their slice of pie, first one to finish before the 5 minute mark wins. Age group 11-17 and 18+ will have 2 minutes to eat their slice of peach pie. One you’ve signed up all participants will meet under the porch where our local band will be playing at 12:00 PM. The contest will begin promptly at 12:30 pm

Guidelines for Pick-Your-Own Fruit

  1. You must purchase your Pick Your Own bags at the check-in building located above the market on your way to the playground. You will see apple signs on the building indicating the check in for pick your own apples.
  2. Park your strollers and leave your pets, containers, bags, backpacks, coolers & blankets at home or in your car. These items are prohibited inside the orchard.
  3. You must take the wagon ride to and from the field. The wagons run continuously. There is an entrance fee of $3 per person to enter the u-pick apple field. Wagon ride is included. 
  4. All Apples picked must fit inside the bag you purchased. You cannot carry any apples out of the orchard. If you do, you will have to buy an additional Bag for them.
  5. Before leaving home, please check back on this page or call 301-271-2737
  6. Call for picking availability and hours depending on weather conditions. Catoctin reserves the right to close the Apple Orchard due to inclement weather that may include heavy rain, thunder, lightning and/or severe winds without advanced notice in order to protect our customers and employees.
  7. No picnicking in the orchard. Picnic tables are located at the playground.
  8. No walking in the orchard. We have moving tractors and other large machinery at work.
  9. No pets in the orchard.
  10. If you drop an apple or an apple falls off the tree while picking, we kindly ask you to pick it up to ensure no apple goes to waste. Thank You.
  11. Cash Only. All sales final, no refunds.
